It's Friday at 430pm.
I'm sitting in my kitchen thinking about how I survived today's afternoon slump and this week's intense grind.
I probably wrote:
- Over 40+ marketing emails
- 2 drafts of a sales page
- Started 1 more
- 2 lead magnet ebooks
Not bad.
I'm exhausted, but not bad, either.
Two years ago, I was dying to get even one project under my belt.
Two years ago, I was praying that this freelance copywriting thing would work out.
Two years ago, I wanted to make money writing copy, traveling the world, and live well in a European capital.
Two years ago, all of this was just a dream.
My late childhood hero, Kobe Bryant, said something about this 'dream' we all have:
“Those times when you get up early and you work hard, those times when you stay up late and you work hard, those times when you don’t feel like working, you’re too tired, you don’t want to push yourself, but you do it anyway. That is actually the dream. That’s the dream.
Recently, I realized that I'm actually living the dream.
I'm stuck in my Budapest flat due to the virus. I can't even travel anywhere. I've worked all week and definitely not finished. I'm tired. Creatively dried up. Worried about exporting email contacts for a client. No plans to get trashed with the buds this weekend...
Nope.
But I love it.
I know it's the dream because it's so difficult, so tiring but so so so damn fun.
